At the CROSS CANCER INSTITUTE, I was Coerced, deceived, extorted and intimidated into getting one six-month shot of Eligard against my will without being informed about all the horrific quality of life destroying and life shortening side effects, and certainly never warned that ADT CASTRATION would leave me hypogonadal for years or perhaps permanently. No doctor will prescribe TRT. Here in Canada, its easier to get an injection of MAID , medical assistance in dying, to end my life, than to get a prescription for testosterone to regain some semblance of quality of life. I refuse to let the medical CARTEL continue to treat me like a concentration camp inmate. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH Thank you for the courage to challenge the 1940's Huggins medical malpractice.

I would NEVER AGAIN choose this treatment. After a few years I went into acute urinary retention and many times ended up in emergency with a catheter. Finally I passed a seed that had become stuck in my urinary tract. But because it had been stuck for some time, it had caused a scar tissue in the urinary tract which cause a stricture. I went to numerous urologists and no one could help me. My niece found a doctor in Arizona who removed 1" of my urinary tract and attached it back to the prostate. The surgery was called an urethroplasty. I went along for awhile okay and then it happened again. I went back to the doctor in Arizona and he used a laser to break up the seed so it would pass. It happened again last week and I wasn't sure, but thought it was a seed. I had an emergency catheter installed. Today, a miracle happened after they removed the catheter, my first elimination was difficult. but all of a sudden something very large came out. It was the seed and had calcified and was large. Unfortunately, I expect these types of events to continue for the rest of my life. I would NEVER recommend this treatment to anyone with prostate cancer.

Is it really necessary to use ADT with intermediate unfavorable prostate cancer if you are doing Radiation beam treatment? Shouldn’t the radiation therapy be enough by itself to kill and control the cancer?

So, what is the all-hailed Spit test going to prove because everything seems to have a push-me, pull-you narrative around it? Thought MRI was the gold standard after all the research the University College of London (UCL) carried out, now we're told it's not so reliable. Listening to this biopsies can be inaccurate. Ugh.

My oncologist says I don't qualify for active surveillance because I've had previous prostate treatment of brachytherapy. But he gives no science to back it up. It strikes me as an argument from authority. I think he is from the old 'heroic' school of kill the cancer/save the patient - even though he is a colleague of Dr. Klotz. I also wonder if he wants me to stay as a data point in his own research. As far as I know I'm still localized Gleason 6 which was the original diagnosis in 2016. Single core, even. After several years of low and level PSA my number is creeping up to 4.1. PSMA upcoming and likely new biopsy. That's fine and good. But if I'm still localized Gleason 6, I will be pushing very hard to move to active surveillance. Any thoughts on why I should be excluded from active surveillance if I'm still localized Gleason 6 just because of previous brachytherapy?

I just started Kyzatrex yesterday. (I'm 57, very fit and never been on TRT or any steroids before, I'm also larger than average: 6' 5", 235 lbs.) My Doctor prescribed the max dose of 400 mg, twice/day, but will adjust it down, if necessary, after the initial tests in 10 weeks. I think his reasoning is that, not only am I a bigger guy, but the numbers achieved on the "recommended starting dose" (200 mg, twice/day) aren't really that impressive. Anyway, so far (one hour after second dose on second day), there's not much noticeable. I want to say I might feel a bit more energetic (the main symptom I went to him for was fatigue), but that could be pure placebo at this point. According to what I've read about conventional TRT, even the guys on the needle-injected form have said it took many weeks, if not many months to notice real improvement in their symptoms. 7:08 That graph is not very useful if you look closely. It's not an indicator of absorption %, it's just saying that percent of people reached "normal levels of serum testosterone" which is presumably, >300 ng/dL (which could literally be random chance). Kyzatrex's prescribing info document says this: "When KYZATREX was given with breakfast containing 16%, 33%, and 45% fat, the exposure (AUC0-24 hr) of testosterone was increased by 37%, 87%, and 94%, respectively, compared to when given under fasted conditions." That indicates to me that if you want the best absorption, you want to take it with a high-fat meal. BTW, the cost of 3-month supply (360 pills) was $690 ($230/mo). I got it through his office this time, which may have included a mark up, but as it becomes more mainstream, I'm hoping the price comes down.

If doctors would only have the integrity to talk to the patients who have personally experienced severe brain fog on ADT CASTRATION, maybe, just maybe they would warn men about this and all the other horrific quality of life destroying and life shortening side effects. Full disclosure is mandatory before men can give FREE AND FULLY INFORMED CONSENT.

I have been surviving prostate cancer for 5 years. Surgery, radiation, hormones. I tried the plant based diets for a few years and felt like crap. Now after 5 months of carnivore diet, I am stronger than ever. I actually look forward to working out and I am converting all of the Lupron induced fat back into muscle. Go carnivore, it's easier than you think. Just try a week of beef, butter, bacon and eggs. Salt to taste. Research fenbendazole and high dose (20mg) melatonin. You were right 4 years ago, Dr. Cross. It was just in 2023 that the guidelines changed 2 weeks after my stepdad had an RNU for his high grade UTUC N1 with metastasis. The data was there and it was clearly ignored by his urologist who performed the RNU before sending him to an oncologist. My stepdad is paying for that poor decision now.
